Our Story

Dunfermline Central Mosque & Islamic Centre is the first and only mosque established in Dunfermline. The mosque was initially located at Hospital Hill in a small terraced house over three decades ago. However, the growth of the Muslim community led the mosque to move to its current location on Woodmill Road in the year 1995.

The building, which was previously the Social Miners Welfare Club, was purchased and then refurbished via the generous support from the Muslim community of Dunfermline. Further development and extensions were made upstairs in order to accommodate space for a community centre.

The mosque is a community hub for Muslims of all ages and backgrounds with space and facilities for both men and women and is always open to the wider community to visit and learn about Islam and its place of worship.
